I want to shared with you a fabulous Woodland themed wedding we had the pleasure of styling earlier in the season. Vicki and Ben approached me last year with their ideas for the perfect afternoon tea in the woods inspired theme. Vicki didn't want a wedding full of Ivory and White, rather she wanted a real pop of colour and fun. The wedding was held in Hothorpe Hall's new venue The Woodlands. For those of you planning a rustic wedding you must take a look at this venue. Nestled amongst the trees The Woodlands offers the perfect backdrop for the rustic wedding, with wooden chalets for your guests, a fabulous outdoor blessing area and a bespoke treehouse for Bride & Groom complete with all the luxuries (unlike any treehouse you have ever seen!). Drawing inspiration from nature we constructed a log alter in the blessing area of The Woodlands with an abundance of gold wrapped candles, conical vases and different height logs. Some 35 logs, 80 vases, tea light holders and candles went into creating the log alter but it was worth it. We borrowed the table centrepieces to add colour to the backdrop, pretty vintage pressed glass cake stands with gorgeous popping colourful arrangements by Flowers By Philippa, Philippa finished off the alter with a pretty stage of rose petals for the bride and groom to stand on. It didn't end there, we lined the aisle with lanterns, hung colourful parasols from the trees and surrounded the area with huge latex 1 meter balloons. A whisky barrel table piled high with Vintage china for the guests to enjoy following the ceremony completed the afternoon tea in the woods. Further more Philippa dressed a very pretty bridge with a colourful array of Calla lilies and roses. An abundance of shepherd hooks throughout the Woodland with pretty flower filled jam jars completed the look ...and then it rained! I have loved Vicki and Ben's enthusiasm for their wedding throughout the planning and on the day they both remained totally unruffled when the heavens decided to open. I applaud Vicki for sticking to her guns and she did go on to enjoy a beautiful Woodland wedding, the odd umbrella did not deter her and they both smiled throughout the day. Inside the Mulberry dining room the rustic theme continued with elegant charm. We designed lots of lovely chalk boards and made apple place settings to tie the look together. Vicki and Ben very much enjoyed being involved with the planning of their day and I love the pretty little hessian bag favours. The Mulberry dining room is a beautiful reception room with large glass windows overlooking the woodland area.

About UsNerissa Eve Weddings founded by two sisters Nadine Nerissa (with a background in art) and Laura Eve (with a background in theatre). Following our own weddings in 2012 we noticed a gap in the industry for suppliers of hire items that offered something a little more unique and at realistic prices hence Nerissa Eve Weddings was born. In this world of DIY weddings and varying budgets we were surprised to find very few companies encouraging 'Dry Hire' and honest pricing so we have made it our mission to do just that. All of our products can be viewed and collected from our expanding storage facility. While we are more than happy to help you style your wedding, we are also here to assist you with styling your day your way by yourself. Through our love of weddings and artistic background we want to help brides bring their ideas to life. By talking to us you might be surprised what is possible with a bit of creative flair xx |
